BUONGIORNO
BRADT GOES ITALIAN
Bradt have signed a deal with Italian publisher FBE Edizioni to translate and publish their guides in Italian. This is a major step forward for Bradt and as Managing Director, Donald Greig explains ‘launching Bradt in Italian under our own brand is in line with our plans to gain broader consumer recognition, especially in those territories where Bradt guides are currently sold in English. We’re delighted to be working with FBE, a successful travel publisher with whom the Bradt brand sits very comfortably’.
More than a hundred people, including members from the press, television and radio, attended the official launch party in Milan hosted by Bradt Chairman Hilary Bradt, and Fabio Badin of FBE Edizioni. Founded in 2003, FBE Edizioni is the only Italian publisher specialising in travel literature. Bradt chose FBE as they felt they shared the same philosophy - to offer an insightful, refreshing and occasionally controversial view of the road less travelled, while paying particular attention to responsible travel. For the very first time, Bradt’s inimitable style of guidebook, which recently proved a winner with Wanderlust readers, will now be available to Italian travellers in their native language. The first six guides to be published in Italian are Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Madagascar and Slovaki. Further titles scheduled for later this year include Borneo, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Maldives, Seychelles, Slovenia and Yemen.
